I overslept and missed my first finite class in college; What do I do?

Seriously! Should I shoot my professor an email saying that I was unable to attend class, or not? Would sending an email just draw attention to myself? Should I tell the truth? Flat out lie? Should I try to contact another student?? HELP ME PLEASE!!
Should I actually tell him that I over slept?
 
First of all, you need to get a very LOUD alarm clock and use it, even if you're taking a nap, so you don't miss any more classes.

Second, I would call or email someone in that class to see what happened and what the assignment is.

Third, I would go to the professor's office asap and apologize for missing the class, assure him it wouldn't happen again, and make sure he knows that you intend to stay in the class.

Fourth, study very well for the next class with this professor. It's one thing to miss a class but to come unprepared to the next class looks like you're lazy as well as disorganized. Yikes!! Good luck...
