I need to write a sport report for class! HELP!!?

Okay, I know NOTHING about sport. Fortunately, my teacher says I can make it up, so there you go. I want to do soccer (it's not important but if you want you can add some tips about how to write specifically for soccer, that would help),

what I need is INFO on how to write a sport report.

P.S: Just in case you're wondering if the school system is going to hell, I need to write a newspaper for my Writer's Workshop class.
 
Write about a person or an event. A player like Garrincha or a World Cup win by Brazil (especially the 1966 victory).

Or write about athletes. There are plenty of athletes who overcame hardships to win Olympic glory. Wilma Rudolf overcame childhood polio, hunger and being born 18th of 19 children to win three golds at the Rome Olympics in 1960.
