"I need to talk to you " what does this mean?

When a calls you, and sends this text (no smiley faces or anything) to you what comes to your mind?

I'm in a situation where things haven't been working out, so a girl sent this to me. We never call each other so i thought it was important. I called her back and it wasn't important at all. the conversation only lasted about 1 minute.

so do you think she wanted to say something actually important but then backed out?
 
That is usually an indication that there is a problem that needs to be addressed.

I'm thinking she got cold feet about what she wanted to talk to you about.

Never call each other? Communication is the most important part of a relationship, if you can't communicate with each other then the relationship is destined for failure.
