time. Any suggestions? I am a newb when it comes to bikes. However, I am fairly mechanically inclined. I just bought two new tires and tubes and can get a guy locally to put them on for me. The thing is that if they are on the bike still, he charges me double than if they are already off. Well, I can take the wheels off, but have no idea how to set the bike up so that I can take both wheels off at the same time. It has a center stand, but that does not work and I can either a.) not find a jack (stand) that fits this bike, or b.) have found a few but they are extremely expensive.

So, is there a way to do this without an expensive stand? Thanks.

make a stand for the front (will work either) a piece of 2x8 or 10 depending on hight of frame, six inches wider than your frame, get a 5' length of 1 1/2 galvanized water pipe a 45 degree elbow a cap and a 1 foot piece of pipe. drill a 1 1/2 hole about 3" down and in, in the wood slide pipe in hole and cap it so it can't slide out screw the 45 degree elbow at the end then the 1 foot pipe, now slide the lift under the bike wood flat and sticking out about six " on the other side now pull down on the pipe until it's on the floor, you are now the proud owner of a biker stand for less than 20 bucks, your center stand will keep the rear wheel up the flop stand will keep the front end up.

Follow the link below to the Intruder alert forum. The link is for plans for a simple bike lift made from items you can purchase from your local home improvement store. Cost to make this is about $25.

You may need to alter the plans a bit to fit your bike.

Get the tires installed one at a time.
Bike on center stand - remove the rear wheel.
When you get it back on - bike on center stand - floor jack
under front of motor - remove the front wheel.
No one jacks a bike off the ground with both wheels removed.
