nearly all BMX bikes require a single speed chain: http://www.performancebike.com/bikes/Product_10052_10551_1032188_-1_400021_400002_400187 just like this one. It has a quick connect link but you will still have to get a chain breaker to make the new chain as long as the old one: http://www.performancebike.com/bikes/Product_10052_10551_1030368_-1_50000_20000_50004
You can certainly break a chain without this tool but you run the risk of damaging it beyond use. Either take it to a local shop and let them do it for you (about $10) or sweat it out with a hammer and a punch..
