If that's all you want, it does that. Mine too. You don't need it to go faster for those functions. I am getting by more or less fine with my G1. But for my purposes it requires piling on apps to get basic functions such as bluetooth file transfer (must root for complete usage) and the ability to download and save ANY attachments, to work. BTW I still think Android is more a toy OS than a serious smartphone OS. The Defy offers three important things: (for me, anyway)
1) Much more memory so if I have to pile on apps I can.
2) Wifi calling.
3) I can beat it up mountain biking, snowboarding etc.
... otherwise I would get the Nokia N8.
