I once read this story about a stranded starship pilot who had to do an emergency landing on a very strange planet. After spending time there he starts seeing the creatures living there and hears their music. He even falls in love with one. When he gets rescued by his buddies months later, he finds them to be alien, and their sounds 2 b a complete noise. He then jumpes the rescue ship and flies back to his new planet, never to be seen again.
