I need to know how to plug my pc to my tv?

I don't have a s-video out on my computer I'm guessing it's a HDMI Cable that I'm needing.I don't think I have one that cable. Where are they usually located? I don't have no money to buy anything? Since I have an HDTV,a directv cable box, an sony/vaio laptop when I bought them do they provide the HDMI cable I need to connect my pc to the tv?
