I am looking to place a new sound system in my car and I don't want to short the battery out so I am thinking it may be a good idea to upgrade the alternator and then have two amps, one for the subwoofer and one for the speakers.

How do you know if the alternator will work with your car?
 
i upgraded my alternator on my 91 accord due to the system, and i got one on ebay for 90 dollars, and its still kickin my stock alternator was 80 amps, and this one was 160amps
