I need to insert an AT&T sim card into a Sprint cell phone is this possible?

Okay so I have the Samsung Magnet. Pretty crappy phone. My friend got me his old blackberry. He is with Sprint can I put my sim in it and have it work? Oh and this is legal right? Then it says the number on the phone is his number how do i change it to my number. It still calls as my number but on the phone in the "my number" section says its his number
