for employment? I do not want my information such as social security number etc in these peoples hands. Can I call the cops and forcible get my records removed/destroyed.
How all this happened was I applied for a cleaning position that they said paid 950 every two weeks. They gave me a call and told me to show up for an interview. I show up and fill out an application with my info and give them my resume that the requested.
Now I go into the interview and the lady just chit chats with me without really explaining the job. I ask and she says that you will be shampooing carpet but then she sneaks in a comment that I'll be shoeing a product. I asked is this a sales position to which she replied no. Do the interview ends and she tells me to call back in a few hours because she has to confer with her boss about an interview that had no substance.
So I call and she says I got the job and that I should come in for orientation.
Now when I arrive I get put into a room with several other candidates and the supposed boss of this business starts his pitch. He then pulls out a vacuum( a Kirby) and proceeds to talk about it and explain it's inner workings.
Now he then starts to say that you will be getting paid the 1900 but on top of that you can make more money by selling this vacuum cleaner. He never says how many vacuums you would have to sell to make this extra money or go into any specifics on this. And as the orientation moves forward the presentation turns into nothing but a sales meeting.
Once the meeting ends two people are called at a time to interview with him. He doesnt ask us anything relevant.
I ask several questions about the job to which he gave me the runaround on. And after a min of me asking questions he stops the interview and says I'm hired.
Now I head home and start to do research on Kirby and to my surprise I see employment scams that sound exactly like this one. There is even YouTube videos about. I don't feel safe with my Personal information what can I do
