I need to find this book but forget what its called.?

Its about a group of teenage friends on go on a camping trip to "Hell" (thats what they call it anyay) and they come back to their town and find out it has been taken over so they go into hiding back at where they camped. They then start to find out who these people are and why this is happening. Their families and the town are being held captive in the showgraounds (i think).
If you know what this series of book is called please let me know.
