I need to drive this REALLY OLD Cadillac from Illinois to Cali, Will it make it?.?

I am moving out to Nevada soon. I have this old Caddy that I need to drive out there, it was my grandpas car and hasn't been driven in over 25 years.

It hasn't been driven on any long journey for a LONG time (just in and out of a barn). I have given the engine the once over and it now seems pretty sweet,I have stuck some new tires on it and replaced the missing headlight..

Any other things I should do before I go?.

Anything I should watch out for?.
 
If the car is kept "current" in use, and all of the fluids are reasonably fresh, then it will be a rare event if a failure happens. Note that sitting is not good. Tires dry out with disuse inside and could fail at high speeds. Go over all soft parts and fluids, test drive.
 
Before you try attemping this move, I believe you should check the engines, break, fuel lodge, charge and everything just to make sure it is assessable to move. Because I do not have the car unnn front of me, it is impossible to tell you a straight answer. Let a mechanic check it out. Watch out for leaks and pedals, make sure everything is okay and that it is capable for you to drive around the block, or even a longer distance. When you believe everything is in check, its your move. good luck!
 
I wouldn't even attempt it to tell you the truth. That would be a great car to restore, not risk driving it that far.
What I would do is rent a large hertz truck and put it in the back OR rent a car, and a car trailer. Your taking an awful risk by driving it.
