I have 4 goldfish (2 male fantails, 1 shubunkin that I don't know the gender of and one comet that I suspect is a girl.
One of the fish was eating the stones (when I cleaned the tank later found out there were fish eggs in it and that was why) but I wanted a change. I used large glass stones that I bought from the craft department. I rinsed them in vinegar and water and then rinsed them thoroughly and let them air dry.
This morning I awoke to find one of them with ich (one of my 2 fantails). I made up a hospital tank with my old 3 gallon. It wasn't cycled or anything so I did the best I could and took some water from the old tank (and the old gravel but that was rinsed). I have started the ich treatment in the hospital tank.
I am not certain but I think one of the others may have it too. Should I also move that one to the hospital tank even though I'm not certain it has it?
Should I have just treated my entire established tank?
Also, although I have a filter (with the carbon part taken out) running in the little tank, there is not air pump. Is there anything inexpensive that I can put in to make bubbles?
It's a little small for 4 fish but I have a 10 gallon
I just moved the one I knew was sick back to the 10 gal and treated that entire tank. I know I need a bigger one (1 gallon per inch rule says I need at least 15)I was thinking about getting a 35 gallon but I can't really afford that.
