I NEED some HELP about fish!!! HELP PLEASE?

I have two comet in a 20 U.S gallon tank they're happy and healthy. Today one of my best friends phoned and said they have a neon tetra or some type of tropical fish and said do you want to have it? I did some Research. But i found nothing so hopefully you guys can help me.
Can comets be in the same tank as tetras?
Can two tetras live in a bowl?
Please help me ...
