I live in Southern Maryland. Our Summers are pretty hot, very humid and often we don't get much in the way of rain (though I can water the garden with a sprinkler). I was looking for some advice about what would be good veggies and fruits, as long as they aren't trees, to plant here. The soil in my yard is clay based and very hard but I do access to the machinery to till it properly. I don't have much of a problem with deer because my dog likes to stay in his dog house in the summer and he keeps the deer and other critters away but I do have a problem with grubs and worms getting in to my tomato plants. Last year I had tobacco worms and they ruined my tomato plant that had been the most prolific to that point. Really all I want is some advice based on the information that I provided that would lead me in a good direction for my garden that I am going to attempt again this spring/summer. Any pointers would be well appreciated. Thanks!!
