i know this looks long but i really need an answer and it will only take like 3 mins to read at the most ;)

hi can someone answer 3 questions please because im worried about this
1.i have two lumps just under my skin under my chin(under the jaw)
they are moveable,no bigger than my little finger, about 1cm distance apart, firm, but one is softer than the other. i think i might of had them years but i have only really discovered them now. they only hurt if i press them or push my chin into my chest, otherwise they are pretty unnoticable. does anyone know what they could be and if they are dangerous? any info would help please.
2. i also have one that doesnt hurt as much as those but feels the same on the back of my neck just where my hair starts to grow.
3. can you have more than one cancer at the same time? is it possible to have more than one cancer lump in the same area? how long can you have a cancer lump before you start to feel ill?

additional info - im 13,i weigh 9 or 10 stone im reasonably fit, the only serious illness i have ever had before is kidney failure(e-coli) and the only person in my family who has ever had cancer before in my family is my grandma who had breast cancer, but she got over it :)

please answer because im worrying loads :(

Hi Matty, I am thinking that you probably have not had these for a very long time or you probably would have noticed them before even if they were smaller. They could be anything and it would probably be best to talk to your parents and see a doctor to put your mind at rest. I am sure that most likely they are nothing serious....possibly some clogged hair follicles, a fatty cst, a swollen lymph node. I have 4 kids and am a grandma.

What you have explained sounds most to me like swollen lymph nodes. Sometimes they will swell when your getting sick or if your body is trying to fight off sickness. Sometimes as time goes by before or even while you are sick they can get really hard & hurt quite a bit. Sometimes they will go away on their own or it can take antibiotics to take care of whatever you may have before they will go back down.

Of course this is all just speculation as I have not seen them. Again it is best for you to talk to your parents & see a doctor. I really wouldnt worry too much about them though. Good luck, let me know what happens!
