Hello! Thanks for possibly helping me haha. My school takes an annual trip to hike a portion of the Appalachian Trail. We are going in North Carolina and in the past this trip has been help in the beginning of October, and often snows a little. My grade is going to the middle of November, which is clearly more cold then October. Some of the things on my list I already have (sturdy hiking boots and an internal frame hiking backpack). Now, I need a rain jacket and probably a synthetic or down jacket to wear underneath (And possibly fleece and some type of underarmor). I need help with what type of rain jacket would be best (and the best for the price!) and what type of synthetic/ down jacket is best. Please note I get cold easily
Thanks!
To the very unkind "Ultraman"- Yes, it is obvious from my question that i have never been hiking for an extended period of time. If I was experienced then why would I be asking? As of my lack of the appropriate terminology, I was simply naming some of the things on my supply list. Also, at least I know how to use commas and grammar appropriately. "Come on, seriously, you have no business in the wilderness"... enough said. I would like to finish by stating that I actually love nature, a fact you would not know. In the future I urge you to not only use proper grammar, but I challenge you to not be so judgmental. I am 15 and I am taking 3 AP classes at an advanced college preparatory school, so I think it is okay that I do not know the difference between hiking backpacks. Have a lovely evening!
