how to do them tomorrow!!? A 0.255 kg sample of tin, which has a specific heat of .230 J/g ^o C, is cooled in water. The amount of energy transferred to the water is 3900 J. If the final temperature of the tine is 18 ^o C, what was it's initial temperature?

Mercury has one of the lowest specific heat constants which makes it an effective substance for thermometers. If 257 J of energy are added to 450 g of mercury, the mercury's temperature will increase by 4.09 ^o C. What is the specific heat of mercury?

Please SHOW me how to find the answer, rather than just telling me what it is...THANK YOU!! :)
