I need help with the Samsung Rant. Please?

I just got the Samsung rant. I can receive and make calls just fine. But I cant send out texts. I got a text but when I tried to reply it said code 97 error.
What does this mean and how do I fix it? Has this happened to you and what did you do?

that happened to my alltel phone, and it was because they didn't activate it correctly,

i got a refund,
so you should go to the samsung store :]
