...should be? I really need some help preferably from someone who is a veterinarian or at least a graduate student working toward it. Right now I am at a community college and I am terrible at chemistry but good at biology. My first semester I did okay but still not where I wanted to be. Long story short right now my cumulative gpa is not looking too good. However, last semester and this one I am working really really hard and now I'm looking to transfer. The problem is my gpa and also my father. I want to go to the University at Albany because they have a big research center and Binghamton University would require me still living at home which is making it harder for me to concentrate on work with many conflicts. The problem is that my father wants me to go to a college that my brother goes to which is not good for my pre-vet major that i need. The bigger problem, my boyfriend goes to a college near the one I want to go to but my decision has nothing to do with him! He will graduate in about a year so it would be extremely foolish and immature of me to pick a school based on him but my father seems to think i'm stupid enough to do this anyway. He also thinks that driving 2 hours once a month to visit my boyfriend is ridiculous but we only see each other twice a month. It's driving me crazy because I really think that going to a large SUNY school is important like U Albany or BU because they have a higher acceptance rate of getting in to vet school but he doesn't think that is true and wants me to just be near home and with my brother. How can I talk to him about this and am I on the right track with what I want to do? It is difficult right now because I don't want to stay at the community college anymore, the advisors keep saying I should stay longer but I really think I need to transfer and start working at a degree at a more serious and well known school. I apologize for this being so long but I really need some help and I'm looking everywhere but I really need some advice from someone who knows what they are talking about.
