I need help with my T-Mobile SIM card!?

Ok, so I have a tmobile prepaid SIM. I use it for my jailbroken and unlocked iPhone 2G. And today, all of a sudden, it can't read my SIM card. I've only had the SIM for about 2 months now. It was working fine a couple hours ago. But when I put the SIM back into the original phone it was bought with, it says INSERT SIM! I don't understand why it doesn't work. I've tried a hard reset and resetting all network settings on the iPhone, but it still does not work... What do I do to fix it??
I did try putting another SIM in there. I put my AT&T prepaid SIM in there and I get the usual NO SERVICE reading.
 
this might sound like a stupid solution but take it out, and restart the phone with the sim card not in it. then turn it off and put it back in. Its like a reset kind of. at least when my phone did that it worked.... hope it works
 
thats weird... i had the exact same setup Tmobile sim card in an iphone 2g but nothing like that ever happened. sometimes it would give me trouble, but every time it did, i would just re jailbreak my iphone and that always worked (or my neighbor who works with apple would take a look at it and re jailbreak it a better way) so try that, but my iphone eventually broke so i stuck it back in my black berry pearl which by the way are the most indestructible phones, and ive never ever had any trouble with mine that ive had for 3 years. but i would suggest re jailbreaking it and if that doesnt work, search for a different way to jailbreak it than the one you used, and if it still doesnt work, then your card is screwed up maybe from the software you jailbroke with so take it to a tmobile retailer and get a new card.
