i need help with my iphone.?

i had my iphone unlocked and worked perfectly during the summer in europe
came home and i downloaded the new software for it and now there is an itunes logo, USB cable, a slide for emergency and in itunes it says "the sim card inserted in this iphone does not appear to be supported." when i take the sim card out it shows "the iphone can not be used with itunes because the info required for activation could not be obtained from the iphone"
is it locked,bricked...
can someone give me step by step instructions how to at least go back to the home menu

Forget the advise you will get here. Go to an Apple Store and they will take care of the problem. If you tampered with the phone, don't bother with the Apple Store. You can make an appointment for a day and time online with the Apple Store. All the people working there are great.
