i need help with my htc evo hotspot!?

i fully rooted it and installed the rom myns 2.2 so i could get the hotspot featur for free. the hot spot feature works.. it just feels watered down... it only allows 2 users and for some reason, even if i have a 4g connection, it wont let me tether the 4g...it jus switches back to slow 3g! not sure if i can fix it cause i got it for free BUT if there is a way i would like to know...thanx
