I have a 1995 honda odyssey. I was having a fight with a friend over the weekend. The friend decided to turn the van off while I was driving and I freaked, I didn't know what to do so I put it in park. I now realize that it is not smart to put a moving van in park, esp at about 30mph. I heard all types of noises but then was able to start and drive off. everything was fine up until the next day when now if i put it in reverse it don't move and makes a serious loud noise. I don't even have to step on the gas.. the minute it goes into reverse mode it makes the noise.
Please tell me the damage I did.
Thanks

There is a piece inside the transmission called a "parking pawl". the purpose of that piece is to lock the transmission in gear when the car is in "Park" so that the car doesn't roll forward or backward.

when you try to force the car into Park while rolling it's like trying to put a screwdriver in the spokes of a bicycle wheel that is moving. eventyally you'll get the screwdriver in but you'll probably bend either the spokes or the screwdriver in doing so.

no doubt you bent the pawl and thats whats making the noise. I would recommend having the transmission oil pan removed to see what the damage is. I don't know if the pawl is accessible through the pan or not but if anything is broken it will usually fall down into the pan.

on an off-chance the noise in reverse is unrelated, it could be a heat shield.

hope that helps
