What is the reason that writers sometimes do not write the names of a town out in their work, as Harriet Beecher Stowe's reading illustrates in at least one instance. Sometimes, in other words, we will see a writer say something like the following: "The men and women traveled to R______ and relaxed for the weekend." The question is why the writer does not write out the town's name. I need the information along with the bibliographic information concerning the location too.
