I have a 91 ford ranger 4.0 V6 automatic 4x4. One day i was driving and it started making a grinding sound, so i turned off the motor immediately.
Then when i try to start it again the started turns and is working perfectly. The flywheel has no damage what so ever (teeth wise). When i turn the flywheel with a screwdriver the motor turns like it should. I even went ahead and changed the starter. I did find metal shaving in the housing where the starter and the flywheel connect. Any help would be appreciated. thank you
