ok besides using the Native Americans how else did Europeans gain objects they wanted such as furs and gold?

(During early colonial times)
opps sorry its late and im just out of it. I mean New world like the americas.
and by using i mean trading
 
do you mean Europeans in America or the whole world? if just America then through hunting and mining...but what do you mean by "using" do you mean trade, exploitation or slavery? all three happened.
