I need help with flash. Beginner stuff.?

So basically I made a button and when I click that button the text I want to show appears but when I let go of my mouse it disappears and I want it to stay. I googled it and all that but can't figure out how to fix it. Some help me.. I think it is an actionscript code but I don't know so please help.

You need to use Actionscript, which is flash's controller script. And it would not be possible to really script it out for you because you would have to know how to link movie clips to actionscript class files. I would also have to know how your timeline is laid out and what your movieclips are named.
 
I'm not so great at action script but i can recommend a good site called flash kit, it has tutorials and faction script for just about everything.
