I have a stationary exercise bike. The arm of the left pedal fell off after I sprayed some DW-40 on it. The arm did not turn on the bolts axis so I do not believe it is stripped. I am thinking metal rubbing against metal would be the only reason why something would be stripped, right? My guess is that the arm was never tightly connected in the first place. After oiling it, i noticed the arm was wobbly and once I tried peddling it, it fell off within 20 seconds. A lot of oil was on the bolt and inside the arm opening. I am not handy with tools, so my friend will be over soon to look at it. In the meantime, I am worried that it is stripped. Does it sound stripped to you. I do not have a number to the manufacturer to get a new part. Are there repairmen for this sort of thing? Please help.
