I need help with Cricket web access

Does anyone know how to bypass Cricket's mobile web to gain full internet access. I'm hoping this will resolve the issue of those nasty error messages.

supposedly if you change the username to the [email protected] of a CWIS account and disable the proxy settings it will work without the proxy. i've never tried this before tho.

i can change the username within the phone settings.
how do i access & disable able the proxy? i've been told to use standard usb cable & software. but i have no idea what software. i'm an electronics engineer so i'm confident i can do it if i've got the right tools. you're help would be greatly appriciated.
