I need help with brushes for paint.net?

Hey,
I'm downloading some photoshop brushes for paint.net, but some of them don't work!
they are in an 'abr' format.
I have WinRar.

How can I get brushes for paint.net? I'm using DeviantArt, by the way.

Or is there another free software whereI can use photoshop brushes?
