My boyfriend has type 1 diabetes and he is very scared about dying. There isn't anything I can say or do that will change his perspective. Tonight he asked me how would I prepare myself if he did die or got really sick? Honestly, I would be completely heartbroken obviously. The thing is, if I told my boyfriend that he would dump me because he told me he doesn't want me to go through that pain, and if he can prevent me from hurting then he will do whatever it takes (leave me). I want him to know that, although it will be painful, I am prepared for whatever happens and I will do whatever it takes to comfort him when he is in pain. I will stay strong for him/us when we are faced with those trials. Can someone maybe please help me think of something more mature and heartfelt to say? I REALLY want to emphasize that i'm going to be there for him no matter what.
The reason i'm asking this is because it's always good to get other peoples advice. It seems like I always say the same generic stuff to him, and I really want him to know how serious I am about this relationship and sticking with him until the end.
