i own two fieros, one is a 1987 GT v6 that was a 4 speed converted to 5 speed which i bought for $800. the other is a 1986 SE with the v6 engine which i inharited from my pop pop. both fieros have issues. i was in an accident where i fell asleep driving and crashed into a parked car going 35 mph or so. i crossed over the opposing traffic lane and my drivers side bumper and light collided with the car and put me to a dead stop. the frame was kinked pretty bad in the wheel well as if the hulk punched my driver's side headlight straight on and pushed it back about 6 inches. it smashed the crap out of my front bumper, hood, and both front wheel panels. 2 tires were blown. i took off the smashed body panels and the headlight and tied a chain to my dads SUV and tried pulling the kink out. we got most of the worst kinks out but im still not able to align the replacement body parts back on properly. i am able to charge the fiero and start it but it gives me trouble sometimes and when i drove it down my driveway the steering felt out of whack. i dont really know much about cars but the 86 SE i have needs a brake replacement and thats about it besides minor engine tinkering. im looking for opinions on a few questions: Do you think it would be worth it (economically) to take my GT to a frame shop and have it repaired? if yes, could you give me a rough estimate on the cost of choosing that option? i was also looking at possibly taking what i need off my GT and swaping the parts onto my SE and converting it to a GT (engine/tranny and body parts) since the frame on the SE isnt damaged. could you tell me pros and cons and costs to that option? another option is to sell it for parts since i have another car that ive been using since the accident but i wanna see what i can do to fix it before i make that decision.
