...rip me off? Yesterday when I went back in my car it didn't turn on...The AC would go on including the radio but the little engine check sign came on. I took it to the place I always go to thinking it would be the battery but they said most likely it would be the starters. Now they say that they"ve put the starters new but now it turns on and just dies after a few minutes. Does anyone have an idea of what it can be? I'm just concerned that being a female they will try to tell me some bull crap!

If your car is newer then 1978 your car has what is called a brain. This brain is usually under your fuse panel under the hood. The brain controls a lot of stuff to include the idle of you car. Most cars now don't have carburetors they are fuel injected. So back to the brain sometimes it's a chip that controls the idle and sometimes it's a big panel covered in silicon to water proof it. Usually if that goes out your car won't idle. A chip can cost as little as 100 dollars from a junk yard or 200 new. If it is a big chip then your talking 500dollars or more.

Okay, first off...Year, Make, and Model, that is the only way any of us can help you. There are a lot of very smart and experienced people on this forum, but we all need the same info to start with. So, please help us out, so we can help you out!

The best place to start is to quit seeing yourself as a potential (if not probable) victim. If you don't trust them to be honest, you shouldn't have gone there.
Give them a shot at seeing what's wrong. It may have been something that has been going bad, just not failing until this point. I've seen that a hundred times. It may be they left a wire off of the starter when they replaced it, or maybe they damaged something when they did the work. Most people will fix their error. And it may be coincidental. You never know.
So quit being ripped off by your own fears and give people a chance to do right. And you'll feel better.
