I've been feeling this weird knotting feeling in my throat
like I'm choking on something in my esophagus, and its hard too swallow.
This has been happening for 3 weeks now, and I've been to the doctor
only once and me and my mom suggested it was acid reflux because
my doctor didn't really know what to say or do.
The doctor told me to take zantac, for a week and it would go away.
But it has not, and it bothers me a lot. So I really have no clue what it is
or what to do about it.

also, I'm only 14 years old

I am so sorry you are experiencing such a bothersome symptom.

Have you tried taking an antiacid? Zantac is an acid suppressor but an antiacid like Gaviscon or Tumms may provide you with immediate relief. They are all over the counter medications.

Sometimes experiencing a knot in one's throat can be a symptom of anxiety. Anything going on to worry you? Final exams? Family problems?

Another suggestion would be to keep a food diary for a week to see if you find a trigger or an allergy.

Keep complaining if the symptom does not go away and maybe your pediatrician will refer you to a specialist like an ear, nose and throat doctor to check you throat with instruments.

Hope you feel better very soon and keep us posted.
