I've recently begun studying lucid dreaming. I've been practicing some techniques, especially WBTB (wake back to bed), so far mostly successful as far as dream recall. However, while I've not had too much problems remembering my dreams, I haven't been able to become lucid.
I know not to worry or think about it too much, but i think my problem is focus. Whenever I am calming myself before sleeping, after doing breathing exercises and listening to binaural beats, i lay down in the most comfortable position and recite all the "I am going to dream tonight, and become aware i am dreaming," and things like that. But i cant seem to settle my mind and keep it from wandering, or needing to itch my nose or something. Could this involve some sort of disorder like ADD (although i already have been diagnosed with it)? Are there other exercises i should be doing to calm myself? sorry for the long question, but it couldn't be properly answered without going into detail.
