I've tried searching, but can't find anything. It's wasn't a popular book by any means. It was a book about a botanist who lived by himself and would create medicines by poisoning and curing himself. I can't remember why, but he travels to a city to find a certain place, and he finds a job there as an herbalist/botanist while they help him. I remember vaguely that he grows a flower from his palm at one point. The only other detail I can remember is that he hides in the trunk of a tree and those trees start moving. I would appreciate any help at all, and sorry for the vague details. Thanks.
