I need help balancing equations in Chemistry?

The way i was taught was to make a sort of T graph and list the elements. On the left side of the graph you give the specific number on the left side of the equation and same with right then try and get them to all match up
So im not sure on a problem like this
CaCO3 ---> CaO + CO2
So on the right side are there 3 oxygens like adding them up or something else?
