I need examples of where the interests of humans are in conflict with the environment?

Just briefly list some examples and provide a resolution for each, or at least something that is possible to do..some sort of negotiation.
 
I'll be suprised if you don't get lots of answers. One I can think of quickly deals with natural resources. People want to cut down the trees for wood & paper products, but without the trees, we cut down on oxygen levels & the earth heats up. It would be OK if they replanted trees one for one. How about over fishing, over hunting, pollution?
the list goes on & on. We need to respect the earth we live in.
 
Irak War: all for some oil

Gold mines: the cleaning process (in many places) contaminate the whater, I know of small towns near gold mines (near Chocó, Colombia) where the wather caused mutations in the children.
The same with some other metal mines, and obviously, Nuclear Energy plants.

Facotries: the boss: -cuz' global warming is a "theory"- (hate them)
same with anything that involves el maldito petroleo
