I need car help? What is the best thing to do?

I have a 96 Toyota Camry, the transmission went and it also has a little oil leak. Im trying to figure out what is the best thing to do, should i just sell the car to the junkyard and get a new one with the money back from taxes or should I find the part and fix it up. Im not sure what is the best thing to do. Im not going to be getting loads of money back from taxes either but its still something. And if the best thing is to get that transmission where should i even look and also how much would the junkyard buy the car from me for? Please help if you guys have any information. Thank you.
