Oh yes! You mentioned sci-fi. This book is sci-fi romance:
The Host by Stephenie Meyer

The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring
The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers
The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King

I love these books, best books ever! They are epic fantacy masterpieces by J.R.R Tolkien, lots of action, some romance, not really sci-fi sorry

if you really like them you can read

The silmarillion
The Children of Hurin

also Tolkien

once you have read the books, watch the movies, my favorite as well.
enjoy your camp, and the books if you read them.

here are my favorite quotes

The Fellowship of the Ring - The Bridge of Khazad -Dum

Gandalf: "you cannot pass! I am a servant of the secret fire wielder of the flame of anor, you cannot pass, the dark fire will not avial you flame of Udun(hell)!

The Two Towers-The Voice of Sarumon

Theoden-"we shall have peace, we shall have paece when you answer for the burning of the west fold and the children that lie dead there we shall have peace when the lives of the soldiers who's bodies are hewed even as they lie dead against the gate of the hornburg, are avenged! when you hang from a gibbet at your window for the sport of your own crows! we shall have peace."

sarumon-"gibbets and crows, dotard! what is the house of erol but thatched barn where brigands drink in the reek and thier brats role on the floor with the dogs! Victory at helms deep does not belong to you theoden horse master!

The Return of the King - the turn of the tide

the great gate of Minas Tirith shattered and the lord of the nazgul, the witch king of angmar, emerged

Gandalf- "you cannot enter here! go back to the abyss that is prepared for you! Go Back! fall into the nothingness that awaits you and your master!"

witch king- "ha ha ha ha, old fool, old fool! do you not know death when you see it? this is my hour!"

Twilight is a really good romance book +it also has a little bit of action going on. One of my all time favorites Definitely.

The Vampire academy series is so good! I couldn't put the books down. It has romance and action. It was addicting....I was obsessed.

The house of night novels are kind of the same as vampire academy but in my opinion the vampire academy books were alittle bit better. But this book is still pretty amazing. It has action and romance.

Hope you enjoy camp.

:)

The Bloody Jack Series, by L.A. Meyer. Bloody Jack is really a girl. Orphaned in London at the end of the 1700's, she lives with a street gang, then disguises herself as a boy and is hired onto a British Naval ship.
Great adventure, great characters, humor, suspense, great FUN.
Bloody Jack, L.A. Meyer
The Curse of the Blue Tattoo
Under the Jolly Roger
In the Belly of the Bloodhound
Mississippi Jack

Does My Head Look Big in this? Abdel-Fattah
Silent to the Bone, Konigsberg

Things Not Seen, Clements
Of Sound Mind, Ferris
Among the Hidden, Haddix
Harris & Me, Gary Paulsen
A Long Way from Chicago, Peck
Tangerine, Bloor
Samurai Shortstop, Gratz

Hunger Games,
The Book Thief,
Roll of Thunder, Hear my Cry, by Mildred Taylor.

There is a GREAT double biography called Parallel Journeys, by Eleanor Ayers with Richard Heck and Helen Waterford.
Helen Waterford survived Aushschwitz and emigrated to the US. Heck was raised as a good German, joined the Hitler Youth, and later became the youngest pilot in the Luft Waff (air force.) He also emigrated to Canada and then the US after the war.
In 70's, these two people crossed paths, and began telling about their parallel journeys. The book is amazing.

Why don't you try 'To kill a mocking bird' by Harper Lee. It is a classic. The book is an easy read, plus it is not very thick! You will find the narrative very interesting and it will keep your attention. BTW, it is not a teenage love story :-). The story is told from point of view of a kid who is very naughty and idolizes her father. I don't want to give away too much because I don't want to take the book's charm. Believe me, you will love the book. It is one of my all time favorites!

I would also suggest Alchemist by Paul Coehno.. I am sure you will absolutely love it... Plus you can revisit this book once you are older and you will discover new meaning to it! The book has romance and adventure at its core. It is a very simple read and is very appropriate for someone your age. And yes, it has a very happy ending! Read it and you will not regret. I can guarantee it!!
