I need advise on makeup for a military ball.?

My dance team is going to perform at a military ball on Saturday and i have never actually been to a military ball. I am wearing a black and white strapless gown. It is floor length. I prefer having my hair up due to the fact that I have to dance. I don't know what I should do with my makeup because I don't want to look crazy or anything. If you could help me decide on my makeup and maybe some hair do ideas. Plus does my dress sound okay for this kind of ball or not. The dress was originally my friends for pageants she's been in.
 
the dress sounds perfect for a ball. as of makeup go for the natural look with light natural colors, or give your eyes a smokey look, because it will go with your dress. ok so hair, here are a few hair do's but i dont know if you have short or long hair so i will mix it up:
1) dress up a bun or ponytail with clips or curls
2) put your hair half up half down than curl the bottom half and put a bump at the top
3) if you have short hair just add nice clips or add sparkles and straigten it


im sure if you google hair styles you will find something and find how to do it.
