Hi!

My dad is into photography and uses a real nice camera and lens and all that. He always takes pictures of kids he knows for sports and they always turn out great.

Problem is, I have no idea what I could get him.. he has plenty of books, photo editing programs, the hugee lens, etc...

Please help if you know of some things that could be good ideas.

By the way, the price doesn't matter, I just want to get him something nice that he will enjoy

I bet you that he does not have this definitive Library Resource: The Time-Life Photography Library for $29.00 at:

Enjoy,

Good luck!

A digital frame to put all his fab pictures in

a coffee book with his fab pictures, target does it

A children's book using his photo's as the illustration.

You can get him different filters for his lenses. The lens' size is written on it. Some good filters are: Red filter - for black and white photographs, makes the photographs look really dramatic, really nice. Gradual filters are good for landscape photography. UV filters are good for protecting lenses and just to eliminate a little bit of glare.
You can also get him a good bag where he could put his camera and other accessories.
And if price doesn't matter at all, there are always good macro or fish-eye lenses out there that are pricey, and thus some people wouldn't buy them for themselves. Check whether your father has those. If not you know what to do. You can also go to the local photography stores are ask them which ones are good.

You can also get him a nice sturdy tripod, or a shutter release. Remote shutter releases are cool too.

Hope this helps

I sometimes use Ritz for my processing and they offer a prepaid prints card for digital prints and I believe the prints are cheaper this way. I am sure that other stores offer this too. You could buy one for your dad so he can print some of those great pictures.

Or you could just get him a gift card to a camera store (brick and mortar or online) and he could pick out something he has had his eye on.

If he doesn't already have an external flash, that would be a nice gift. Or does he have a nice tripod? What about a bag that will hold more of his gear?

There isn't a lot of time before Christmas now, but you could have gone to an online photolab and made a photobook with some of his pictures. They look like a book you would find at a bookstore. It might be something to think about for his next birthday or father's day.
