Hello,
As it is the holiday season, I plan to buy a new cell phone. Currently, I have two opportunities: either I will get a HTC Hero or a BlackBerry Bold 9700 (Onyx). My previous phone is an Apple iPhone.
HTC Hero looks pretty cool, but I am not sure if I like Android that much (Google-verse is a bit scary these days). On the other hand, I can live with a touch-screen, but I will really appreciate to have a "real" keyboard on my next cell phone. Unfortunately, I think BlackBerry has fewer applications and even though I guess the essential is there, as I am a casual user I think the "fun-factor" might be slightly better on the HTC Hero.
As I am going to spend the next year or two with one of these, I would like to have a little bit of your opinion before making a decision.

On the other hand, do you think Symbian has a bright future, now that it is open source?
I am a little scared of the SAR levels of the previous two phones (1.55 & 1.51 W/kg WTF) and I might consider getting a Nokia N97 Mini after all (even though I wish I could afford to buy a Nokia N900 so bad).
