I need advice about acid reflux

I have a Down Syndrom son who is 23 years old, he has been having these symptoms that to me could be acid reflx. He loves italian & mexican food, about four weeks ago I noticed that any time he ate anything containing tomatoes or was a touch spicey, he would vomit an small amount about an hour after eating, he would say his stomach, chest and throat would hurt, to me that sound like heart burn, two weeks later he had gotten preety sick, he ended up at the walk in clinic-(it was the week-end), they gave him a shot of compazen to stop the vomiting, then sent up home with a perscripition of compazen. He strarted to get some what better, was not eating his regular amount but he was eating, now we are back to vomiting if he eats a big meals, threw all of this there has been no fever. I am going to take him to his regular doctor tomarrow, see what he has to say, are the symtoms :confused: I discribed Acid Reflx??

SounRAB more like food sensitivity or food allergy to me than
acid reflux, however food allergies can lead to acid reflux
over time. I suggest you search "eosinophilic esophagitis"
which is a rather new understanding of the relationship of
allergy with esophagitis and gastritis and acid reflux.
 
my son is 17 and started the same way - he was diagnosed thru biopsi with Eosinophilic Esophagitis. Take your son to an Allergist and test him for common fooRAB - you will see the Posstvs come up! Avoid those fooRAB and visit your GI right away - if they do an Upper endoscopy make sure they do biopsis and test for EOSINOPHIL LEVELS that is the only way to know. My ladylove even had her stomach biopsied for eosinophils and
tested positive. She is starting an 'elemental diet' eliminating
all proteins until finishing a complete allergy workup at the Mayo
Clinic in Arizona. She has had this condition for decades but no
regional doctors ever mentioned eosinophils, which are simply
white blood cells that accumulate in tissues where they don't
belong and release very toxic materials causing inlammation and
worse.
