So my tonsils have basically been constantly swollen for as long as I can remember. I typically get strep throat 1-3 times per year, but I have basically been getting sore throats / glands just about every other week for the past 3 months.
I actually run my own business and have no health insurance but finally broke down and went into the ER today. They agreed... It definitely looks like my tonsils need to come out ASAP.
They referred me to a ear, nose, & throat doctor to make an appointment and checked to see if I qualify for AHCCCS (basically free healthcare offered by the State of Arizona). I supposedly DO NOT qualify because I am a single adult with no kids (yeah... Lame.).
On top of that, I don't have $4-6k laying around to go out-of-pocket for the surgery, my credit currently SUCKS (just as bad as the real estate field I used to be in), but NEED to have these taken out ASAP.
What are my options???
Will doctors be willing to perform this kind of surgery and basically allow me to be put on some type of payment plan? ... Even though my credit sucks? Is that a normal thing or am I going to have to search high and low to find someone (if anyone) willing to do this?
