My novel is set in another dimension, where its inhabitants have always been of superior intelligence to humans. I'm trying to write a scene where my human character sneaks into one of their cities, but I'm at a loss of how to describe their modes of transport. I don't want anything futuristic like shuttle cars, or giant tubes that ferry you around like in Futurama. I want something that would be efficient, and gentle on the planet. Something that doesn't use fossil fuels or anything of that nature. I'm not the most creative person when it comes to thinking up inventions or creations or whatnot, so I just need a little nudge in the right direction.

P.S: It's set in present times, but bear in mind that the beings that dwell in this dimension have always been far ahead of humans in terms of evolution and intelligence.
