i need a photoshop expert!!!?

hey guys,i am trying to get rid of the background in a picture and am having a bit of trouble with the magnetic lasso tool.

i am trying to isolate the object from a picture. i know how to drag the lasso around the object and i know how to select, but i dont know how to paste it onto a blank white background. so what do i do after selecting it?

well, I use a much easier method.

I duplicate the image, hide one copy and use the eraser to remove all the background and just isolate the object. I use the Shift+click method to get straight, even lines
