He doesn't care about anything so far as features.

1) It needs to be very good about drops.
2) Good watch proofing is a +
3) Big letters and numbers for dialing
4) spaced out keys for dialing
5) BT is a small +
6) GSM unlockable
7) Easy to use UI
8) Pretty loud ringtone and vibrate
9) cheap
10) Good contact support

Probably looking in the sub $150 area so nothing big. Preferably not a candy bar but it could be one. Doesn't need to be uber thin, with card slot, mp3 player, etc.

What carrier will you go with? Figure that out first, then decide on a phone.

#6 indicates GSM thus it doesn't really matter.

I would go for the Nokia 6030 or 3220.

Actually, it does matter. If it is on Cingular, and it is a tri-band phone, there may be reception issues.
